Due to inclement weather, the Houston chapter launched on January 24, 2018, just one week after National Project Save A Mouth Day. Dr. Phillip Iero, the sponsoring chapter doctor and oral surgeon at Bellaire Facial, Oral, & Dental Implant Surgery, was joined by cardiologist Dr. Yong-Jian Geng and fifth-grade teacher at St. Vincent de Paul Mr. Stephen Shaw. Despite the moved event date and inches of snow, the launch was a huge success, and the new chapter got a chance to discuss how important joining together is to educate the youth of Houston on oral health. This chapter of health professionals, education experts, and local leaders will soon become an asset to the community they call home.
